Transitioning to Montessori

Moving to a Montessori school can feel different at first, for children and parents alike. The environment, the language, and the rhythm of the day are all a little different from what many families are used to.

Here are a few things that help families settle in well:

  • Trust the process. Children often take a few weeks to find their feet. This is completely normal.
  • Resist the urge to ask "what did you do today?" Try "what did you choose to work on?" or "did anything surprise you?"
  • Come to our parent evenings. Understanding the Montessori philosophy makes a real difference to how you support your child at home.
  • Talk to us. Our guides are always happy to chat. No question is too small.
  • Give it time. Most families tell us that within a term, they can't imagine their child anywhere else.

Ready to take the next step?

We'd love to meet your family. The first step is simply getting in touch.
